Renée Marazon is a member St. Katharine Drexel Parish where she serves as a Eucharistic minister and Chairperson of the Jeremiah Team (Parish Leadership Team). She coordinates the parish Charism Ministry (Spiritual Gifts) and Prayer Team Ministry. She has served as Coordinator of the SKD Alpha Core Team and a coach and mentor for Southwest Florida Alpha USA.
Ms. Marazon also serves as a council member of the Pentecost Today USA and a member of the Formation Committee. Ms. Marazon has given retreats, workshops, and parish missions throughout the U.S. and Trinidad and the Philippines via ZOOM. She consults with parishes on a variety of topics including charism discernment and the great value in pastoral teams knowing about and calling forth their people into ministry positions using their charisms.
She has authored over 10 publications including Charisms of the Holy Spirit: Tools for the New Evangelization, Intentional Catholic Parenting Series (Affective, Social, Creative, Cognitive, Language, and Physical Development Books), The Catholic Parent/Teacher Handbook of Child Growth, Development, & Learning, Renewing the Renewal: A Firestorm in the Catholic Church, and Deliverance Prayer: A Matter of Wisdom, Discernment, and Obedience. She is married to David and they have four children and eight grandchildren.

Ms. Marazon is passionate about supporting the journey of Catholics to "live more deeply in the Spirit".
Her publication Charisms of the Holy Spirit: Tools for the New Evangelization is an important work that enables Catholics to not only discern their spiritual gifts called charisms, but also, to learn about them and use them in their mission to bring others to Christ -- the primary work of a missionary disciples.
Ms. Marazon has presented at numerous Catholic Conferences, parishes, religious sister communities, and Catholic Covenant Communities, across the United States and in Trinidad and the Philippines (via ZOOM).

Ms. Marazon served as a leader in K-12 best practices throughout her professional education career. She developed the first Grade 5-12 maritime training and education school in the U.S., the Maritime Academy of Toledo. The Academy served inner-city, high poverty students. Maritime was Ohio’s first Mariner Career Tech Education program with State of Ohio approved Course of Study. The Academy prepared students for maritime jobs and college. She served as School Superintendent from 2006 to 2015 until she retired.
In 2010, Ms. Marazon was named CEO of The Maritime Academy of Toledo Foundation which supported The Academy through its nine US Coast Guard approved professional mariner courses. Ms. Marazon, partnered with Owens Community College to create a “Degree at Sea” scope and sequence course of study, integrating mariner credentials to their variety of two-year degrees such as nursing, culinary/hospitality, accounting, administration, welding, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Between 1983 to 1997, her career highlights included serving as chairperson and founder of the teacher education program at Lourdes University. During that time she authored over 10 parent and teacher resources including The Marazon System, a child-centered educational approach focused on six domains of human development (affective, social, creative, cognitive, language, and physical) with 96 related developmental characteristics called target objectives within these six domains.
From 1997 to 2003 Ms. Marazon worked as a US Air Force contractor, training teachers, home visitors, and family childcare providers in The Marazon System philosophy of education which promoted using curriculum to nurture and develop the whole child according to the child's developmental readiness to learn. Her philosophy is in stark contrast to making curriculum the primary focus of education. Ms. Marazon strongly proposed making children the focus of teaching - in her own words, "What a novel idea!"
She also served as a consultant to Family Communications, Inc. (Mister Rogers' Neighborhood) and presented a Parent Education evening with Fred Rogers. She also presented parent education workshops for the production staff of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, and she was a member of the PBS Puzzle Place Outreach Advisory Board (KCET, California PTV). Additionally, she has served as a consultant to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and was a frequent speaker at local, state, and national conferences.
In 2014, Ms. Marazon received the North American Marine Environment Protection Education Association Award.
